Dr. Annapoorani Veerappan earned a combined BA/MD from Boston University, graduating Magna Cum Laude from undergraduate in 2007 and Cum Laude from medical school in 2011. She then did her Internal Medicine Residency at Northwestern in Chicago, IL from 2011-2014, followed by her Gastroenterology fellowship at the University of California, San Diego from 2014-2017. She moved to the triangle in 2017 and worked at Duke University for seven years before making the transition to UNC Rex in late 2024. She enjoys all aspects of general gastroenterology, performs endoscopies/colonoscopies/esophageal dilations/flexible sigmoidoscopies and also does in office hemorrhoid banding.
